Capitol Christmas

Spring Weather

Today it was 67 degrees outside. No one was even wearing their coats. Oh, yeah, that is the book that all the kids are addicted to and has their teacher reading.

Mount Vernon by Candlelight

On Tuesday, some of the faculty went to Mount Vernon for a presentation about George Washington and then a tour of the house by candlelight. The speaker was wonderful but the rest was so so. It was a function just for teachers in the area and there was a waiting list, so I guess I should be thankful that I just got in. However, after the speaker there was wine and finger foods available. You would think teachers never got any food by the all out war there was around the two circle tables. People pushing and shoving like you never saw before. Viva at one point was like, "Ladies, really!" when some women reached over her just to get at a new platter on the table. It was awful. The tour of the house was alright, except that it was the same tour but this time in candlelight....fake candlelight to be exact. I thought we were going to see something extra special. I guess you can't win them all.

Advent Wreath Making

Every year the congregation has an advent wreath making night that includes dinner and each family putting a wreath together. I was again one of the first ones done as I have been for the past two years. I don't know what takes everyone so long. It's really very easy to make. Maybe it's all the practice I had making Allison's wreath long ago that has made me quick.

Thanksgiving Potomac Sunset

End a Thanksgiving Day with a sunset out over the Potomac. It was so beautiful I couldn't resist the shots. People were pulling over everywhere to get a better look. Another amazing thing to be thankful for on this day.

Virtual Thanksgiving

This is how I spent my Thanksgiving. No one can say the Reed family isn't in the 21st centuary! It was a great way to be with the family from the comfort of my own home.

We Celebrate Veteran's Day

To our Veterans, we give a thank you. Here was a picture I found at the base of the following picture....someone put it there. What a shot to find.
At the Air Force Memorial
A beautiful shot of Arlington. It was amazing to look at all those tomb stones in the distance and really see just how large the place is. It was amazing.
