Seriously...again

We were hit with ice first. You can see the build up on my window.
And there it is...my again snow covered car. You can bet I'm not cleaning it off again. It looks like I did nothing.
Hey, listen guy...just give up. It's ok.

Calm before the next storm

Sunset Saturday night...about 30 minutes after the storm ended. The clouds moved and we had a wonderful sunset. It took a total of about four hours, a bucket, pitcher (shovels ran out) and frozen limbs, but I was able to clean off my entire car and make a horseshoe around it.
As you can see...not school bus friendly. Alright!!!
Walking to the post office, since you don't want to lose your spot in the parking lot. So, I must help with the trail blazing down this small incline.
Of course, if I don't want to lose my spot in the parking lot, I could do this like others in the apartment complex. Maybe I'll do that later.

Still Snowing...4:00 p.m.

Thank goodness I have the top floor. There is about 30 minutes to an hour left of this thing. Then time to dig out. The tree outside my window from an earlier post snapped some limbs off. Huge crack and there it went.
I finally got a good look at my car. Talk about snowed in.
A car on Columbia Pike.
Looking down Columbia Pike toward school. For the first time in my life I stood in the middle of Columbia Pike and didn't worry about getting hit. Can you believe this is one of the busiest streets in Arlington.
Looking toward Washington D.C. down Columbia Pike.
I don't know where they were trucking the snow. Maybe to Vancouver..kidding.
Show you how much snow I'm going to have to dig out from behind my car. Lovely...
That's the top of the window of my car.
I took off some of the snow on my hood too to show you how much there really is.

Blizzard '10

The calm before the storm. Actually it wasn't calm this night. Not with police directing traffic in grocery store parking lots. I know it's hard to see but this parking lot is packed with people trying to get last minute groceries. Friday morning. We didn't have school because of the snow scheduled to come later that day. This is traffic that morning...people trying to get home early. You can't tell but the snow had just started.
The first dusting of snow. Around 5 o'clock in the evening.
By 9:30 in the evening.
No one was out.
By 10 o'clock Saturday morning.
You can see how the branches are just being dragged down. Even the top stem of the tree is showing.
Where's my car? It's actually the fifth mound over.

Wednesday Snow Day

This is what our Wednesday snow day looked like, when I could see grass by ten in the morning.
Somehow 38 degrees doesn't make me think snow day.
