Platte Lake was so beautiful. The water was clear and you could go out more than 150 yards and still have the water only up to your neck. We tried a few times to walk out far, but possible approaching speedboats made us head back in to the safety of shore.
We had a great play area for the kids and huge trees for shade. Our cabins were small but perfect for our trip.
On Sunday, we went to the airshow in Traverse City. Jacob just loved it!
We spent other time just relaxing at the cabin.
We went over to Crystal Mountain one afternoon to ride on their alpine slide. We had to take a ski lift to get to the top. The view was amazing and the ride down was fast and exciting.
Hannah was super excited to get a chance to watch cartoons one morning while Mommy and Daddy went on a bike ride with Grandpa.
The kids spent some time dressing up in their safari vests and exploring around the beach one morning.
Rebecca and I stopped by Crystal Lake one morning to pick up some rocks. It was very beautiful there.
One evening we drove over to Point Betsie Lighthouse to watch the sun set. We had a great time there watching the sun slip below the horizon.
Hannah wanted to try taking some pictures while we were there.
Self portrait I guess. I had to laugh.
I found a little bus by the side of the road with Caleb's name on it.
We had a girl's activity where all the girls put on nail polish and makeup and went shopping. It was a special time.
It was great to see the cousins having some special time together.
It was a great trip and one we will not soon forget. We already have hope to do this again in a few years. Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary Mom and Dad!
