Fear the Turtle

Andy and I got the chance to spend the afternoon on Saturday at Maryland's Comcast Center to see a basketball game.

We were rather early.  This is not all the people that were there obviously.

There is the turtle! (Also known as a terrapin, even though they are technically turtles and on several caps you will see the words "Fear the Turtle" as you see on the hat that I'm wearing on my head in the previous photo.  By the way, that explanation was mostly for Dad who likes to make fun of that fact that I call them turtles instead of terrapins as he feels I should.  But if you look up the word terrapins in the dictionary, you will in fact see that they are defined as turtles.  Even Maryland sells caps with the words turtle on them in their shops on campus.  Therefore, I can and will continue to call them turtles.)

Get the crowd pumped up.

It begins.

We won!  Of course, Andy had to say that we won because the other team is usually bad.  But that doesn't matter in my mind, we still won.

We asked a very nice older lady to take our picture after the win.  After taking the picture, she did say she thought she got most of us in the picture.  I didn't really understand what she meant until I looked at the picture later.  Oh, nice!  I'm still trying to figure out how she thought that's what we really wanted.

Andy got his picture next to the 2002 ACC championship trophy.  It happened the year he graduated from Maryland, so it's special.

Christmas Snapshots

For everyone's information, Lacy was not happy in this picture.

I think in the end Hannah married Caleb one day and married Nathan the next day.  Caleb wouldn't marry her upstairs (he wanted to get married downstairs) so she postponed the wedding until the next day.  But then she came and said they did get married finally...downstairs.

The next day Nathan confirmed to me that he had in fact married her just a few minutes earlier.  He thought it would be ok since he is older than her and Uncle Jeremy is older than Aunt Rebecca...so I guess that means it was ok for Nathan to marry Hannah.

Could we get any more presents under the tree?

It's fun to watch Grandpa sleep.  I love Leah's smile.  Almost looks like she has a halo on her head.

Grandma came for a visit.  It was so nice to see her.

This one loves to sit on Uncle Andy's lap.

The guys setting up Mom's new computer.

Thanksgiving

I made it all.  I know....it looks amazing.   It was.

LEA Convention

Two weeks ago, I spent a few days in Milwaukee, WI at the LEA Conference.  Look who I saw getting some money out of ATM.  President Harrison!  I couldn't resist saying hello and getting a picture with him.

I also saw the famous sausages...or are they brats?  Whatever...the guys who race at the baseball field.

On Saturday before returning home, I had a few hours to spend with Matt, Allison, and the kids.  Matt took us out for a nice lunch at the Friday's Restaurant inside Miller park.  It has a great view of the playing field.

Inside they have a baseball wall.  It's pretty cool seeing people who have autographed baseballs.  Some people are pretty famous.

But the best thing I saw in the park where these two sweet children....and Bernie.
