Nationals Baseball Game

Went to a National Baseball game on Sunday with the faculty and their families. You can see Washington D.C. from where you are sitting in your seats. We lost 5 to 3 to the Texas Rangers. It would have been a great time if I hadn't been so tired from the previous nights all night lockin with the youth. Because I was half falling asleep during the game, I wasn't thinking of putting on the suntan lotion going around. And let's just say that when people saw my chest on Monday when I came in to teach at VBS...most of the woman gasped. Yeah...I'm a lobster. People's main comment....Ouch!! That's got to hurt! Wish I could show you a picture but the camera died....I think forever.

Bad storms

After terrible T-storms with tornado warnings (and even one tornado touchdown) rolling through my area yesterday ....leaving Arlington as one of the hardest hit counties....here is just an idea of the damage...about 10 feet from our school parking lot. Thank goodness it wasn't my car! I went home to a dark apartment which wasn't fun with no fan and in the 80's. Thankfully my power came back during the night but half of Arlington is still dark tonight. Nothing like lights flicking and going out during a faculty meeting, rain blowing sideways, police crawling all over the streets, Columbia Pike down to one lane, lights out, power lines down, and the city in gridlock practically. I don't know how long I sat in my car just trying to get the 4 blocks home. Oh, and such a devastation....OUR CELL PHONES WOULDN'T WORK!!!!!! I couldn't make any calls out of the area. :)
